78. ANZSCO unit groups on the NSW Skills List for subclass 190

On 15 October 2026 Investment NSW updated the NSW Skills List for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190). NSW states that the update applies to the subclass 190 only, and that a further update on the NSW Regional Skills List for the Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491) will be provided when more information becomes available.

The updated list names 78 ANZSCO unit groups. To be considered for NSW nomination, your occupation must fall within a listed unit group and be eligible for the subclass 190 visa. NSW notes that not every occupation within a listed unit group is eligible.

Is your occupation on the new NSW list?

Type your job title or ANZSCO code. For each occupation you will see whether its unit group is on the NSW Skills List, was added or was removed on 15 October 2026, and whether the occupation is on the MLTSSL or STSOL, the occupation lists for the subclass 190. NSW requires both.

How NSW invites for the subclass 190

NSW nomination for the subclass 190 is by invitation only; you cannot apply for it directly. NSW ranks Expressions of Interest within each ANZSCO unit group on factors including age, English language proficiency, education, points score and total years of skilled work experience. Invitation rounds run through the financial year with no announced dates. An invitation is valid for 14 days and NSW states that this will not be extended.

The residency requirement depends on whether you are invited as an onshore or offshore applicant, which NSW decides from the usual country of residence recorded in your Expression of Interest:

    • Onshore: working in NSW in your nominated occupation for at least 20 hours a week, or residing in NSW and having continuously resided there for at least six months.
    • Offshore: residing offshore and having continuously resided offshore for at least six months.
