Queensland’s 2026–27 nomination program has not opened yet
Registrations of interest for Queensland’s State Nominated Migration Program are closed, and Migration Queensland has published no opening date or allocation for 2026–27.
Migration Queensland’s own page records that registrations of interest for the 2025–26 State Nominated Migration Program are closed, and that it is awaiting advice from the Australian Government on future program settings. No opening date and no allocation figure for 2026–27 has been published.
Nomination allocations are set by the Commonwealth and then distributed by each State and Territory, so the State programs generally open once the Commonwealth has confirmed numbers for the year.
What can be done while it is closed
The work that determines whether a registration succeeds is done before the program opens: a current skills assessment, an English result that will still be valid on the day, points claims that can each be evidenced, and employment documents that match the occupation claimed. A program that opens on short notice rewards a file that was already complete.
